Traveling the world to catch hundreds of monsters, taking part in pocket sized plumber adventures, solving puzzles, pretending to be an ace attorney and slaying monsters, the Nintendo DSi has managed to turn non-gamers into gamers. With a great library of games like "Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney," "Brain Age," "Animal Crossing," etc.

The Nintendo DSi and its touch screen device has changed gaming.

Nintendo revealed the Nintendo DSi at a Japanese press conference on October 2, 2008. The surprising announcement shocked gamers and the media. Many had mixed feelings about Nintendo's new handheld. Some hated the fact that you couldn't play your favorite Gameboy Advance or Gameboy games on it, while others thought it would be a good upgrade for those with an old, first-generation DS model.

The Nintendo DSi comes with digital cameras on both the front and back, an SD card slot to store your downloadable games, Opera internet browser, screen adjustments, a DSiware Channel Shop and many other small enhancements.

Game developers of all shapes and sizes have created original content for the system that can't be seen anywhere else. Small independent developers are taking notice of the Nintendo DSi. Level 5, an independent Japanese company, created the popular "Professor Layton" puzzle series, which has found a wonderful home in America. Fifth Cell, the creators of popular games such as the "Drawn to Life" series, "Lock's Quest," and the critically acclaimed game "Scribblenauts," a huge success for the company.

There are also a lot of upcoming games to look forward to. For those who enjoy Zelda, you can ride a train and guide Link in the all new adventure, "Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks." If you prefer puzzle solving, you will soon be able to play "Professor Layton and The Devils Flute." Pokemon lovers should also look forward to "Pokemon Heart Gold" and "Soul Silver," a remake of "Pokemon Gold," and "Pokemon Silver." Pretty soon, DSi will be getting DSi enhanced games that take full use of the hardware, as well.

Nintendo DSi is a wonderful device that can get anyone into gaming. Those who argue that a gaming system can't be for everyone are wrong. Gone are the days when video games only involved fighting the bad guy and saving the day. Now we have games to improve your vision, brain, cooking, foreign language, and more. Its great to see a greater demographic becoming gamers.
