Anne-Marie Orona, former vice-president, became the president of the Associated Student Body Government when Valerie Novak, former president, resigned her position.

Orona now presides over a board that has seen much change over the last couple of months of its term.

Although Gina Foppiano, ASBG interim adviser, is still holding responsibilities tied to that position, she is no longer sitting in at the weekly ASBG meetings.

Rather, Greg Greenwood, director of public information and marketing, has taken over that duty and many others.

Foppiano has previously worked for the college in a different position in the past, and excelled at it, but ASBG never accepted her into the position of adviser.

A resolution passed by the board last December once again resurfaced on Wednesday, April 22. This document, entitled ASBG Resolution 1.08 states that ASBG is, and always has been, an organization that acts in the best interest of the student body. It claims that Foppiano is not acting in the student body's best interest and has therefore lost the confi dence of the board.

Navid Shaghaghi, Interclub Council Chairperson, said that the majority of the ASBG board supported this resolution and aside from two members of the board, they still believe in the resolution.

Orona said that the resolution was written by members of the board who personally believed that Foppiano is unfi t for the position of ASBG adviser and while the board can pass a vote of confi dence in herself to handle the Flea Market fiasco, something that they did do, a vote of non-confi dence in the adviser has no consequence because she is a Delta College employee and not a member of the board.

She said that individual members of the board cannot and should not be passing their personal opinions off as a board consensus.
